Univest Bank and Trust Co. recently presented the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House (PRMH) with a check for $6,936. The money was raised through the Show Your Stripes fundraiser which sold red and white striped sock monkeys at 34 Univest financial centers across Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Lehigh, Montgomery and Cape May counties.
Univest customers and employees embraced the promotion by purchasing almost 700 of the plush sock monkeys during the two-week sale. Additionally, Univest employees showed support for the campaign by wearing their red and white stripes on October 15 and posting photos on social media to help generate awareness. All proceeds benefit PRMH’s mission to support families of seriously ill children by creating a community of comfort and hope.
Univest has been actively growing its support of Philadelphia nonprofits since entering the city in January 2015. Supporting the local communities it serves is a focus for Univest that plays a major role in its expansion efforts. In 2017, Univest donated more than $1.8 million across its service area and its employees contributed 19,152 volunteer hours.
