Univest FinancialSM recently announced Quakertown Community Outreach as the winner of its seventh annual Caring for Community Giveaway, a contest that awards $5,000 to a local, nonprofit organization. Quakertown Community Outreach’s mission is to provide a network of resources, services and support to the homeless and at-risk in the Quakertown community. The group provides assistance and direction with the goal of achieving sustainable independence for those it helps.
Nonprofit groups were nominated for the $5,000 donation by the public through Univest’s Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages. Quakertown Community Outreach was randomly selected from more than 7,600 entries representing approximately 140 local nonprofit organizations. Previous winners of the Caring for Community Giveaway were Logan’s Heroes Animal Rescue, Hope Against Heroin, St. Isidore School, The Grannie Project, Vets for Vets and the Bucks County SPCA.
The contest launched December 1, 2018 and entries were accepted through December 31, 2018. To be eligible to win the $5,000, the nonprofit group had to be a registered 501 (c) (3) organization that operates within the Greater Philadelphia, Lancaster County or Lehigh Valley areas of Pennsylvania or Cape May County in New Jersey.
